Second Wax Brand Review - Callan Candles

Overview

The second brand to be reviewed is Callan Candles.  I discovered this brand on Facebook – you will see this is becoming a frequent occurrence.  I suspect due to the fact i spend a lot of time on Facebook (usually without even knowing im doing it) and a lot of time buying 'smelly things'.  This brand again has a focus on being sustainable where possible.  They only use soy wax, are plastic free and use recycled packaging wherever they can.

There are a few options when buying this wax, either 60g gemstone packs, 110g pods and 220g pods.  I usually buy the 110g pods if its a fragrance i know i like, but if i want to try a new fragrance Callan Candles offer a 10g gemstone pack.  The packaging for the gemstones is a paper wrapper made from recycled materials.  Until i looked in to the company in a bit more depth i always thought the pods were plastic but it turns out they are made from vegetables which i think as great (and quite honestly, didn't even know was possible).  When using the pods you only need to use a heaped teaspoon for each burn.

Reviews

Wax Melts - Blueberry and Vanilla

Blueberry and Vanilla

This is a fruity but comforting scent.  This is one of the strongest scents I've tried so far, you can smell it in the whole house which i love.  If however, you are someone who is sensitive to strong smells or prone to head aches it might cause you problems. That is up to personal preference but for me this is another favourite.  5/5.

Snow Fairy
Wax Melts - Snow Fairy

As i mentioned in my earlier blog post, i'm a bit of a lush enthusiast so i thought it would be a good idea to try each brand's version of this fragrance.  It is identical to the lush product, a sweet scent with notes of candyfloss and vanilla.  This is another strong scent, which in my opinion is longer lasting than the previously reviewed brand Devon Wick. 4/5

Baby Powder

Wax Melts - Baby powder
Again, this is a strong scent which reflects my personal taste.  Ill try and pick a better variety for the next brand review.  This one does what it says on the label.  Smells exactly like the typical baby powder scent, a nice fresh fragrance that just smells like clean. 4/5

Cost

There are various multi buy offers that can save you some cash.  I usually buy 5 jumbo pods for £18 (normal price would be £31.90)  If you were trying the brand for the first time, they offer a sample box of 6 scents for £6.  The pods last ages, 170 burn hours in each one!

Discount

I haven't found any discount codes yet, but if you sign up to the newsletter you will get an new offers emailed through.  My advice would be to look under the multi buy tab as there are loads of deals on the different products.
